What to expect in your
appointment
We understand that you may feel anxious coming into a new clinic or when starting a new type of treatment. Our job is to put you at ease and to get to the root cause of your complaint as quickly as possible. We aim to treat more than your symptoms so we can stop your pain at its source.
1.
Patient History
Our aim is to ensure that you feel listened to and your complaint is sorted out as quickly as possible. We will guide you through an in-depth history, asking questions such as; your present and any past complaints, nutrition, sleep, and your general medical history.

We take the time to understand what you want to get out of your treatment.

Your practitioner will likely now have a good idea about what is causing your complaint, which will enable them to carry out a more precise and accurate examination.
During the examination your Chiropractor will assess your muscles, joints and nervous system to establish what is causing the issue. The examination will always look to assess you as a whole and understand the underlying root cause.

Informed
Consent
After examining the problem we will take the time to explain what we have found and what is the best way to approach your management and treatment.
We will discuss different techniques and with your informed consent we can start putting together a treatment plan for you.

If our services are not appropriate, your Chiropractor will refer you to the appropriate practitioner. Once you have had the opportunity to ask any questions and you feel happy to proceed, informed consent will need to be given. Now, treatment can be started!
It is important to note, every treatment is different and tailored to you as an individual. A wide range of techniques are used and are extensively discussed to ensure you feel comfortable receiving them.
The most commonly known technique used is spinal manipulation or mobilisation. This is when the Chiropractor releases tension, sometimes a 'click' or 'pop' noise is heard, 'which is nitrogen gas being released and this creates movement in the necessary joint. Other methods include dry needling, soft tissue massage and Activator technique.

I would recommend Laura to everyone! I have been seeing Laura for around 6 months due to a bad back injury. Bear in mind that I came to her barely able to walk without being in serious pain, she was empathetic, listened really well and provided excellent treatment and helped me recover. I don't know what I would have done without her! She also gave exercise and tips for things that I can do in my own time to help me further. Absolutely lovely lady, very talented and truly cares about well-being!

Rehabilitation
It is really important to us that you play an active role in your recovery and that you do not need to rely on Chiropractic care.
This is why we have a strong emphasis on home rehabilitation programmes, which give you the tools to care for yourself outside of the treatment room.
Exercises, stretches and changes to your lifestyle will be given throughout your treatment plan to assist alongside the ‘hands on’ care and to ensure your benefits are long term.
